BS3X Arpeggiator Driving Tweaked MKS-80

Here’s another arpeggiated sequence generated by the Bitstream 3X. I’ve learned a bit more about the BS3X arpeggiator. For example, there is a keyboard mode that creates a melody based on the notes that are held down on the keyboard. Otherwise a note on the keyboard is the starting point for one of many preset melodies. More later on the details. For now, I’ll shut up while you listen.

More from the BS3X Arpeggiator

Continuing my experimentation with the standalone arpeggiator on the Bitstream 3X led to today’s sound. Once again I created it by controlling the Roland MKS-80 with the BS3X. I added some subtle reverb afterward to liven it up a little.

My studio laptop is in for repairs so I’ve been experimenting with the standalone arpeggiator on the Bitstream 3X. Once I have learned a little more about this complex feature of the BS3X I’ll write more about it. For now here’s a short piece I created by controlling the Roland MKS-80 with the BS3X.

BS3X and MKS-80 Bouncy Fifths

Arpeggio with Nightmare

This arpeggio includes stacked Roland D-50 and Roland MKS-80 sounds, plus some mad, metallic, nightmarish, knob tweaking that I did on the MKS-80. For me the piece invokes a vision of unsuspecting creatures going about their business, unaware of a predatory horror that lurks in their midst.
